RC Veszprém Trial Championship / Hungarian Trial Championship 2019 Round 5 (Night Run)

The RC Veszprém Trial Championship & Hungarian Trial Championship 2019 Round 5 Night Run on 20th July 2019 @Hajmáskér promised to be a super awesome experience for me as it was the first competition night run ever in my short rock crawler RC comp career.

I was truly excited before the event but tried not to show this outside like a pro. Not sure if hiding my excitement was 100% successful.

The Track

It was a great pleasure for me that the organizers thought about the possible dangers of night-time running when designing the trackline.

So it even could be navigated from the bottom if someone didn’t want to climb the rock in the dark, steps were ditched for safe driving positions, etc. The biggest challenge for me were the ordinary scarpy slope and the many drifty gates, corners and edges.

The Rig

Many of you already know ALU Racer, if not from elsewhere, from photos shared in different RC rock crawler Facebook groups.

Despite the fact that the new rims, tires, shocks, etc. did not arrive until the race, the rig made a really great job, actually there were no problem with him. I hope things can be delivered until Round 6.

On the feared slope it has been flowing down like water on the rocks. My comp judge Zsolt Szabados is the witness I was the most surprised on this.

So the basics are looking to come together, so I am extremely grateful to all the guys that helped me in this process even with a single word.

Final Results

Despite my excitement and the fact that this was my first night run competition ever I managed to stay focused in my run so I made a lifetime best with my 115 points.

I am really satisfied with my final results but telling the truth this could be far better, 85 of 115 points were made by my lack of experience: I did not think of using the winch at 2 points of the track. Nevermind, this performance shows the true level of my rock crawler RC racing capabilities so it was really great effort.
