RC Veszprém Trial Championship / Hungarian Trial Championship 2019 Round 7

RC Veszprém Trial Championship / Hungarian Trial Championship 2019 Round 7

As having my lifetime best with that 5th place and 60 points in Round 6 in August RC Veszprém Trial Championship & Hungarian Trial Championship 2019 Round 7 was highly awaited on 28th September 2019 @Hajmáskér as the final round in this competition series.

Round 6 was a great performance as for ALU Racer and personally me.

Finding myself on the 10th place of the Hungarian Trial Championship my plan was to repeat that result again in Round 7 and getting as high in the final ranking as it’s possible.

The most delicious you eat the more hungry you get.

The Track

I thought “Whoa” when arrived to the location of the competition. The guys over at RC Veszprém marked a quite long and tricky trackline with two swinging bridges in the middle of it.

The line was full of drifty sections with extremely loose surface which meant to be a huge challenge for ALU Racer with its 3.6kg ready-to-race weight.

In short the track was as challenging as a final round track could be on a trial competition.

Several upgrades and tweaks were made ready for Round 7 from the 2020 season upgrades list as formely I believed that Round 6 was the final round of the series so I order some parts earlier.

I have made some reasonable improvements on ALU Racer like:

  • BoomRacing 27/8T Overdrive Differential Gear Set
  • Pro-Line Pro-Spec Scaler Shocks 90-95mm | Buy now ›
  • Voodoo X4 Tires + custom cut Crawler Innovations 1.9” Dual Stage Closed Cell Foam Inserts
  • ARROWMAX 2800mAh 2S Super Shorty 7.4V 55C Comp LiPo Battery
  • Aluminium Flat Side Skid Plates
  • Caster angle optimization
  • Electronics re-ordeing (weight balance + transparency)
  • Mickey Thompson Scale Wheel Center Nuts

Final Results

Right after start came the first 5 gates on a very drifty incline with loose surface so it was highly challenging not to slip into the gates. In this section I was focused and used the sand ladders intensively and in the right way so I left this section with no penalties at all.

But then came that totally superfluous mistake when crawling the first rock cliff of the track. I didn’t choose the right line to crawl and the rig threw itself on its back and left the course. A total of 70 penalty points gathered. After the round was closed I performed that cliff on the right line in an easy manner. Pfff…

As leaving the course took loads of time right in the first part of the track on the next sections I was in a hurry. After wasting significant and stressy time crawling the second cliff (finally winched), I arrived to the last 3 gates at 27 minutes from the 30 minutes time limit.

There came the panic point: my focus totally fell apart and touched the trackline chain 2 times in 5 seconds. Another superfluous 40 penalty points. Oh my god. I didn’t solve the mental work like I did in Round 6.

Fortunately I was finished in time so I could keep off a DNF (Did Not Finished) which is a great result considering the difficulties of my run.

With a total of 165 penalty points I was finished 7th place in the Hungarian Trial Championship in Round 7 for a nice and useful 6 points. This result was enough for me to jump up 1 place in the rankings and finish the season on the 9th place of the Hungarian Trial Championship as a top 10 driver.

It was a fair result considering being a first-season noob in the series and this hobby as well. And it could be far better when I can stay focused from start to finish and avoid collecting 110 of the 165 points totally unneccessary.

Team KRAWL success: I’m proud to share that Bálint Czere Team KRAWL Driver and R/C Store Driver finished on the gorgieous 3rd place in the final rankings of RC Veszprém Trial Championship 2019 season which is a great result.

Congrats for Bálint and Team KRAWL will get back in 2020 more powerful.

Special Thanks
